Moorland View is a two-bedroomed, luxury, thatched holiday cottage in the 13th century village of North Bovey, near Chagford, in the hills of Dartmoor National Park, Devon.

One of England's prettiest historic villages, North Bovey is made up of a medieval church, a handful of thatched cottages clustered around an oak-shaded green, and a traditional pub, complete with real ales, hearty local food and a roaring fire in winter. The area is rural, safe and peaceful; the only sounds are of birdsong, distant church bells and the occasional clip clopping of horses’ hooves.

Walking is the region’s main draw: Dartmoor is one of England's largest national parks, with 365 square miles of wilderness, and there are dozens of beautiful strolls on the doorstep. Mountain biking, horse riding, fishing and golf are world class, and for beach lovers, the white sandy coves of the South Hams aren't far.

Guests of Moorland View have complimentary use of the pool, gym and tennis facilities of nearby Bovey Castle Country Club, along with a 20% discount on activities, food and drinks.

The Cottage

This two bedroomed, boutique holiday home in the heart of a quitessential
English village is a place to relax, enjoy the great outdoors - and fall in love.

Open log fires, dreamy views, a rose garden, and a vintage copper bath for two - Moorland View is a luxury country cottage that's made for romantic breaks.

The kitchen has top of the range Smeg applicances, a microwave and hand blender. It comes fully equipped, with Global kitchen knifes, handmade crockery, pie dishes and everything you need to cook that sunday afternoon roast.

Coffee, a large selection of teas, virgin olive oil, and herbs and spices are provided.

There's a seperate utility room with washing machine, dryer and steam iron.

In the living room there is a generous four seater sofa, two comfy arm chairs, a large open fire (logs provided), a dining table with chairs, high definition Sky TV, DVD and Blu Ray disc player, and a through-house wireless music system
which allows you to select from an unlimited collection of music.

The main bedroom has a king sized bed with crisp White Linen Company bed linen, original wooden floorboards, a generous wardrobe, wireless sound system and soft, fluffy rugs.

Dressing gowns and slippers are provided.

The bathroom has a generous vintage copper bath large enough for two, an overhead 'rainstorm' shower, Molton Brown cosmetics, underfloor heating, old-fashioned toilet, fluffy towels and gorgeous views of the moor.

Guests arrive to a complimentary bottle of wine and an indulgent pot au chocolat, and the luxury continues with decadent treats that include Molton Brown cosmetics, White Company bed linen, fresh flowers and scented candles. Window seats give way to dreamy views of Dartmoor and a flower-filled garden garlanded with old English roses, honeysuckle and jasmine.

Moorland View’s setting may be olde worlde – North Bovey has yet to get street names – but inside is full of techie treats, including a wireless digital music system which gives access to millions of tracks, as well as your own iPod favourites, all played through cinema-quality Bose speakers. There’s also high-definition Sky Plus TV, a Blu-Ray and DVD player, Apple Mac computer and free high-speed wireless broadband.
