Accommodation details

Kingslake is set in the heart of Devon’s unspoilt countryside. From the cottages there are wonderful views of woodland, lovely undulating farmland, the fishing lakes or the tranquil water garden.

We are able to offer you a high standard of self-catering accommodation. A choice of a one, two or three bedroom cottage or two or three bedroom lodges overlooking the lakes. All are tastefully furnished and decorated, with a full sized cooker, fridge or fridgefreezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle etc. as well as colour TV, central heating and gas or electric fires for those cooler summer evenings. Each cottage has its own patio or garden with patio furniture; and all have either their own barbecue or access to a shared barbecue.

Situated in a peaceful Devon valley halfway between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy designated as 'The Ruby Country'; 15 miles inland from Bude beaches and a similar distance from Okehampton and the moor. A Coarse fishing paradise close to Dartmoor and Cornwall with lakeside lodges or cottages offering luxury accommodation.

We can also cater for a small number of Caravans and tents for those holidaymakers who wish to tour the area.

THE LODGES

The lodges, built in 1997 are situated in a lake and woodland setting, overlooking the tench and mixed lakes. Built to a very high standard, they blend beautifully into their natural surroundings. They are very tastefully furnished and decorated and are provided with the same equipment as the cottages.

The lodges are quiet and well away from any roads or traffic noise. There is an abundance of bird life to be seen, with pheasants and sometimes wild geese coming to your patio for their breakfast.

The lodges have two or three bedrooms, sleeping 4 or 6 people.

COTTAGES

There are ten cottages, from one bedroom to four bedrooms, sleeping from one to eight people. Most of the three and four bedroom cottages have baths; all the smaller cottages have showers.

The cottages are close to the car park and are mainly situated around the water gardens and have views of the lake, woodland or gardens.

Most of the cottages have been converted from the old farm buildings and have stone walls and beamed ceilings. They are bright and sunny in the summer and kept cosy in the cooler months with gas central heating and gas fires. All are furnished and equipped to a high standard and have a three star rating from the Visit Britain accreditation scheme.

The kitchens have gas cookers; microwaves; fridges or fridge/freezers; stainless steel pans and all the other equipment needed by those guests who wish to eat in.

Outside, for those long summer evenings, all cottages have patio furniture and access to either built in or moveable barbecues.

All bedding and bed linen is provided, along with tea towels and bath mats. We have some towels available for hire if needed.

A laundry room with a coin operated washing machine and tumble drier is located in our information room in the courtyard area.

CAMPING AND CARAVANNING

We can also cater for a small number of Caravans and tents for those holidaymakers who wish to tour the area. Caravan Club registered .
